Area Shot: The Area Shot displays the map and driving directions to your destination on the actual receiver. It also includes some POI (points of interest) along the way and intersection display. Intersection street names and turn directions is shown in text. Using the GPS Eclipse GPS-105 as an optional unit, you will get an automatic map switching, tone, and real-time distance remaining to the next intersection. By visiting Eclipse website and using E-iSERV you can download map data for U.S. and Canada and driving directions to your destination by transferring data to your USB Flash Drive or burning it to a CD-R and import it to your CD5100 head unit.
Bluetooth Ready: Using the optional BT-E500 Bluetooth adapter you can connect your phone and make or receive phone calls hands-free. Communicate or talk using an included microphone and your vehicle's speakers.
USB Input: It has a 5' USB input at the back of the head unit. On the USB input you can play MP3, WMA using your USB flash drive. It supports USB 2.0 Full Speed. You can also use the your USB flash drive for the Area shot Navigation.
iPod Ready: In order to connect you Apple iPod to the head unit you need to get the optional Eclipse iPC-106 Interface Adapter for iPod. The adapter is compatible only with iPods with a dock connector and it will charge also your iPod. When it is connected you can perform play list, album, genre, artist, or search songs. Playback functions include track up/down, fast forward/rewind, track repeat, track random play, and album random play. Display selections include song, album, or artist.
HD Radio Ready: In order to have an HD Radio on your CD5100 you can use the optional HDR105 HD Radio Tuner. While it is connected you will get a digital sound quality on you AM/FM stations that would sound like a CD. The tuner has an E-LAN pass-through connection, allowing you to daisy chain an Eclipse CD changer.
Satellite Radio Ready: The CD5100 is SIRUIS satellite radio ready and soon the XM satellite radio.
