Simply put, its like nothing thats ever been seen before in mobile audio. KICKER engineers have spent years in the electronics lab working to create the ultimate competition piece. What they emerged with was the future in high-end amplification, an undeniable breakthrough in car-audio technology that will leave the mobile electronics industry in awe.
Code name Warhorse, the WX10000.1 Signal-Modulated Subwoofer Amplifier is a massive marvel more than 10,000* true watts surging to dual-voice-coil subwoofers with the highest power-handling capabilities. Recommended for use with KICKER SoloX Subwoofers, the Warhorse easily summons enough juice to be dangerous, so a complete understanding of the owners manual is vital prior to installation.
Its big, stepping in at just short of a yard long, a foot-and-a-half wide, and weighing nearly 67 pounds. Its bad, producing more than 10,000 watts while requiring the services of eight 12-volt batteries and two 200-ampere alternators. And its more than any one can handle (actually, KICKER recommends that two installers grab drills and mount this monster.).
Without doubt, the Warhorse has the size and power, but it also houses a secret under its enormous shroud. The WX10000.1 revolutionizes traditional amplification with its signal-modulated, ultra-high-efficiency design. It amplifies audio signal directly to DVC subwoofers from the patent-pending, signal-modulated power supply, rather than relying on help from amplification circuits found in traditional Class D or Class A/B designs. This results in efficiency ratings unheard of in mobile audio 90-percent efficiency at a 2-ohm load and 93-percent efficiency at a 4-ohm load at full power!
Warhorses features are groundbreaking. Four custom planar transformers that handle 5,000 watts each and help boost efficiency, the latest Texas Instruments industrial-grade DSP for controlling signal processing and protection circuitry, heavy-duty, solid-copper bus bars for maximizing current capabilities, 50-ampere Anderson speaker connectors that provide specific safeguards against extremely high voltage signal nothing was overlooked in the four-year design process.
Add to that the seemingly regular signal-processing features found in all amplifiers, only theyre not so regular on the Warhorse. A 24dB/octave, 50-200Hz low-pass crossover, a 24dB/octave, 20-60Hz high-pass subsonic crossover, a KICKEQ bass boost 0-18dB at 40Hz, input gain control, remote bass level control, adjustable limiter control KICKERs managed to cover a lot of ground. But then again, the Warhorse physically provides a lot of ground to cover.
- Kicker Warhorse WX10000.1 Warhorse Series Class D Monoblock Car Amplifier
- RMS Power Rating:
- 4 ohms: 5000 watts x 1 chan.
- 2 ohms: 10000 watts x 1 chan.
- Max power output: 20000 watts x 1 chan.
- Amplifies audio signal directly to DVC subwoofers from the patent-pending,signal-modulated power supply, rather than relying on help from amplification circuits found in traditional Class D or Class A/B designs
- Wired remote bass level control included
- LED power, remote, voltage, high pass/low pass, short circuit, and service indicators
- Tuned Bass EQ (0-18 dB bass boost at 40 Hz)
- Planar Transformer Design
The WX amplifiers four (4) planar transformers are excellent for high power applications and are custom designed to handle 5,000 watts each, leaving more than enough power headroom to operate reliably and consistently at full RMS with 20,000 watts of total capability
- Texas Instruments DSP
The Warhorse uses the latest Texas Instruments industrial grade DSP to handle the amplifiers pulse-width modulation, manage signal processing, and control the amplifiers protection circuitry
- Insulated Metal Substrate Cooling
The Warhorse design uses insulated aluminum material for optimum heat transfer between power devices and the heatsink. Lower operating temperatures improve performance and durability while allowing for a smaller overall footprint.
- Heavy Duty Industrial Bus Bars
The Warhorse has been outfitted with solid copper industrial grade bus bars. With 70 square millimeters of cross sectional area, the WX amplifiers heavy duty bus bars are specifically engineered to maximize the current carrying capability within the amplifier.
- Super Thick, 4 Ounce Double Sided PCB
When you are livin this loud, you have to have a strong foundation. The circuit board used in the Warhorse is 50% thicker than the industry standard and uses the heaviest available 4 ounce thick copper traces and plated-through holes. This assures the circuit board can transfer the current needed for an amplifier of this magnitude.
- Oversized Gold Plated Power Connectors
The Warhorse amplifiers gold plated power connectors were custom designed with multiple power terminals to maximize current carrying capability to the amplifiers signal-modulated power supply.
- Industrial Grade AndersonTM Speaker Connectors
The 50 ampere AndersonTM connectors packaged with the Warhorse amplifier allow minimal contact resistance at high current. The housing of the connectors was designed to prevent polarity mismatches when connecting speakers and also protects fingers or probes from touching the metal contacts to provide additional safety from the high voltage signals coming from the voice coil (speaker) outputs.
- Dual Thermostatically-Controlled Push-Pull
Cooling Fans Twin push-pull fans are mounted on the side of the amplifier to improve airflow and provide additional cooling for the amplifier.
- Preamp RCA outputs
- Low-voltage, high-voltage, filter bandwidth, temperature, and short circuit protection
